About Us
The Beat It Foundation was established in the Fall of 2022 by Marquis Parson after losing his brother at 37 years old to a heart attack. Marquis first got the vision to start The Beat It Foundation, back in 2020 after having a heart attack himself at 36 years old. Heart disease is hereditary in his family, and he wants to help others benefit from the great strides he has made in the treatment, detection, and prevention of cardiac and vascular diseases. The Beat It Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization. We strive to enable the community to improve its cardiovascular health.

Brandon Wright Parson

This is my brother Brandon Wright Parson. He was my first sibling, my first friend! Sadly at 37 years young, on 5/11/22 he had a heart attack and passed away. Coronary artery disease is a heritable disorder in our genes. Our grandfather passed away at the age of 36 from open heart surgery. My brother’s 13-year-old daughter/ my niece asked me, "Why didn’t my dad just go to the doctor?” This question has rung in my head constantly and has been the fuel for me to start this foundation. No child should lose a parent from something that is preventative. This foundation will be the bridge to healing, hope, and beating this disease! Brandon, this is for you we will honor you each chance we get!
